Happy 2024! BEAR BETTER

 

This past holiday season, I received a special gift from Bear Better—a bear plush and a bear themed calendar. This was when I realized the true meaning of Bear in their logo and name. Bear Better stands for the idea that individuals with developmental disabilities, symbolized by the bear (“Bear”), are actively making the world a better place (“Better”). The supervisor said that the "bear" part is due to the fact that those disabled workers look like bears. The name is a shortened version of the phrase “Bear makes the world better,” highlighting the company's mission to create a more inclusive and empowered society. Bear Better has shown me how powerful inclusion can be, and receiving this thoughtful gift was a reminder of the positive impact we can all have. Every day, I’m proud to be part of a company that not only provides opportunities but also promotes the idea that we can all contribute to making the world better, which I ultimately hope my ability would be contributing to making the world more inclusive and less polarizing.
